Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT), India’s premier container port is actively celebrating the ‘Swachhta Pakhwada’, dedicated to support the Government of India's mission for Swachh Bharat. Embracing the cleanliness revolution, JNPT’s employees took a pledge to remain committed towards the cause of cleanliness and devote time to it. Undertaking intensive cleanliness measures for ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’, sanitization and cleanliness drive was undertaken at various locations in the Port like JNPT Township, hospital, guest house, bulk office area, administration building, main jetty area, Landing Jetty, ICD office, BPCL office, the liquid cargo jetty and in the near-by locality. The port has been contributing its resources and efforts for realizing the dream of Clean India, and in a continuance of the same, ‘Swachh Bharat Pakhwada’ is being observed from 16th September 2020 to 30th September 2020 as per guidelines issued by the Government of India and Ministry Of Shipping in wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. Also, throughout the lockdown period, JNPT carried out extensive community disinfectant spraying and sanitation drive in all its nearby villages as preventive measure. To spread awareness among the employees for better sanitation practices and to ensure regular cleanliness, JNPT installed banners and signage boards at strategic locations and also carried out an online training session for its employees to inculcate the importance of the clean environment, better sanitation. During this Pakhwada, various competitions such as Essay writing and slogan competition are also being held for JNPT employees through online mode.
