Pravir Krishna's book Tryst With The Tribes to be released on Dec 10

Pravir Krishna's book 'Tryst With The Tribes: Tales from Tribal Heartlands', published by Rupa Publications, will be released by Arjun Munda, Minister of Tribal Affairs in the presence of Mrs Renuka Singh and Bishweswar Tudu,  Ministers of State for Tribal Affairs and Ramsinh Rathwa, Chairman, TRIFED, on December 10 at Tribes India Lawns, New Delhi. Krishna, a 1987 batch IAS officer of MP cadre, is currently MD, TRIFED. He first came face to face with the stark realities of the exploitation of tribals in Sarguja, MP. Ever since he has helped create an atmosphere where tribals traded freely and earned more. His witty writing style and strong emotional quotient place him in the genre of thoughtful writers who make facts more interesting than fiction. The book has been very well received by top bureaucrats, critics and politicians, including Bhaskar Khulbe, Advisor to PM, Achyuta Sharma, MP, Anil Swarup and C K Mishra,  ex-secretaries to GoI, Abhay Karandikar, Director, IIT, Kanpur and others. M Venkaiah Naidu, Vice president, said he was sure that this book would be very well received as a window to a creative blend of tradition and modernity that the author has brought to the field of tribal development. Sanjeev Chopra, ex-Director, LBSNAA, Mussoorie, said it is an inspirational story about how a committed civil servant can transform an entire ecosystem of livelihoods.
