POLITICAL WHISPERS

Nitin Nabin's appointment must be seen as an alarm bell for some Union Ministers?

Nitin Nabin’s appointment is being viewed as a signal of churn within the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) internal hierarchy. The move reflects the leadership’s intent to inject new energy and generational change ahead of crucial electoral cycles. Sources suggest that several young faces—known for their organizational efficiency and appeal among emerging voter bases—may soon be elevated to key Union positions. This reshuffle could mark a gradual shift from the old guard toward a new cohort aligned with the party’s long-term vision and digital-era outreach. Strategically, the leadership seems keen to balance continuity with innovation, projecting renewal while retaining ideological consistency. If confirmed, these forthcoming replacements in top Union berths would underscore the BJP’s pragmatic approach to succession planning and political messaging, reinforcing its narrative of adaptability and youth-driven governance for the coming decade.

PM Modi spoke with Priyanka Gandhi, on PM's 3 day visit with special focus on Ethiopia?

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi reportedly held an extensive conversation focusing on PM Modi's three-day visit especially to Ethiopia. The discussion delved deeply into the evolving Ethiopia-India relationship, highlighting strategic opportunities in the Horn of Africa. Key topics likely included India's development aid, capacity-building initiatives in infrastructure, education, and trade expansion with the African Union hub. Security cooperation, counter-terrorism coordination, and multilateral engagements were also on the agenda, alongside framing the visit's outcomes for domestic and global audiences. This rare cross-party dialogue underscores shared interests in strengthening bilateral ties amid geopolitical shifts.

Know the Ex Bureaucrats and Technocrats involved with TVK's all round negotiation in Tamil Nadu

Thalapathy Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam has quietly built a backroom team of ex-bureaucrats and technocrats to manage outreach and negotiations across Tamil Nadu’s fragmented political landscape. These figures, less visible than the star himself, are central to conversations with Dravidian majors, smaller caste outfits, and district-level influencers.Former IRS officer K.G. Arunraj, now General Secretary for Policy and Propaganda, is at the core of this effort, leveraging his administrative experience, network in the revenue and enforcement ecosystem, and comfort with data-driven profiling of constituencies to structure issue-based talks rather than personality-driven bargaining. Around him are retired officials and legal-judicial hands who bring procedural knowledge, help draft “acceptable” common minimum understandings, and reassure wary parties that TVK will not be an improvisational one-man show. This technocratic-bureaucratic layer gives TVK credibility in negotiations on seats, alliances, and post-poll cooperation, while allowing Vijay to remain the public face and final arbiter. For established parties, these ex-officials serve as a familiar, rules-literate interface with a disruptive new entrant.

Why BHEL HR Director, Krishna Thakur is switching over to NMDC?

He is doing his best at BHEL now he will set right NMDC. This is always better to switch to other organisation if opportunity comes particularly at higher position. You will enjoy your previous contacts to do better in new organisation. You can enjoy benefits of both the organisation in terms of various activity personal or official. Overall this is good for the company. BHEL is a big organisation and will get suitable replacement for sri thakur soon.

It is very sad part that BHEL's employees below board level are forced not to apply in any PSU by not issuing NOC as required by other PSU. But, board level members free to join any other organisation. It is completely in appropriate action on part of employees.

DATE WITH RTI

Do the details of my passing out match with the official records?

The appellant gave his enrollment number and submitted that he had completed his Diploma in Civil Engineering from a particular University in 2014. He wanted to verify whether these details match with the official data records. The PIO informed that the UGC does not verify the Validation of documents and requested the appellant to approach the concerned University. The CIC observed that the Appellant did not seek for any information as envisaged under Section 2(f) of the RTI Act, rather he sought for clarification or confirmation of a speculative statement. While the PIO attempted to facilitate the Appellant by giving a clarification as though replying to a grievance petition, but the PIO ought to have specified that the Appellant has not asked for any information per se.

Comments

In purely legal terms, the role of the PIO is restricted to providing what is covered under the definition of the term “information” as defined under Section 2(f) of the RTI Act. It would be prudent for the PIO to examine whether the request of the applicant is within the parameters of section 2(f) of the RTI Act and take action accordingly.
