.png)
Buzz within the Goa BJP suggests an imminent change of guard, with senior leadership considering a complete reset at the top. Insiders hint that the move stems from growing dissatisfaction among cadres and reports of strained coordination between the party organization and the government. Delhi is said to be closely monitoring local dynamics, assessing fresh options to rejuvenate the unit ahead of key electoral exercises. Several names are reportedly doing the rounds for the top post, with the central leadership likely to emphasize both loyalty and grassroots connect. The shake-up, if confirmed, could significantly alter Goa’s BJP power structure.
Subsidy increase for PMSGY, giving push to Solar in the upcoming budget?

The government is likely to enhance subsidy allocations under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana (PMSGY) in the upcoming Budget to boost solar adoption. Subsidy for residential rooftop systems up to 2 kW may rise from Rs 30,000/kW to Rs 40,000/kW, while installations between 2–3 kW continue to get Rs 18,000/kW, with total subsidy capped at Rs 78,000. The move targets 10 million solar installations by FY27, compared to around 1.6 million completed as of July 2025. Sources also indicate a new small hydro policy may be unveiled, with financial support for projects up to 25 MW. Overall renewable energy allocations could exceed Rs 26,500 crore, as proposed by the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy.

Despite the continuing tussles within the lower bureaucracy in Himachal Pradesh, a recent closed-door meeting at the state secretariat indicated a rare moment of harmony at the top. According to officials aware of the developments, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu lauded Chief Secretary Sanjay Gupta for his proactive administrative handling and steady leadership amid ongoing turf issues between various departments. The CM reportedly appreciated Gupta’s role in ensuring policy continuity and streamlining governance processes, especially in developmental projects that had faced bureaucratic delays. The praise is being viewed in bureaucratic circles as a signal of the CM’s confidence in the senior-most officer, even as challenges remain within the lower rungs of the administrative machinery. Insiders suggest the chief secretary’s ability to maintain coordination with district-level officers despite persistent factionalism has helped preserve the momentum of key initiatives in the hill state.
