REC records strong AUM growth of Rs 26,537 crore in Q2 FY27

Driven by India’s soaring peak power demand and targeted technology credit assessments, REC Limited’s loan book grew by 5% sequentially to reach Rs 6.17 lakh crore as of September 30, 2026. This reaffirms its position as the power sector's largest standalone financier. REC maintained a healthy Net Interest Margin (NIM) of 3.22% during H1 FY27, delivering a Net Profit After Tax of Rs 7,541 crore (annualized EPS of Rs 57.27).

Net Worth expanded by 14% year-on-year to Rs 94,325 crore, prompting the Board to declare a Second Interim Dividend of Rs 3.50 per equity share. Asset quality remained pristine, with net NPAs dropping to 0.11% following the resolution of a Stage III asset (Rs 4.16 crore), while Stage-II assets declined by 80% YoY to Rs 3,235 crore.

REC continues to diversify into strategic sectors: Renewable Energy grew 27% YoY to Rs 86,660 crore, while Non-Power Infra & Logistics increased to Rs 61,637 crore, accounting for over 10% of total loan assets.

With a robust Capital Adequacy Ratio (CRAR) of 24.04%, REC remains well-capitalized to drive future growth. The quarter also saw REC win the Data Center Champion Award 2026 and issue India’s first pilot tokenized corporate bonds under SEBI's sandbox framework, attracting Rs 796 crore in bids for a Rs 500 crore issue.
