Voruganti Srinivas highlights next-generation public administration reforms

Voruganti Srinivas, President of the International Institute of Administrative Sciences (IIAS), addressed the EGPA Steering Committee Meeting, calling for the revival of the European Group for Public Administration (EGPA), stronger academic collaboration and continued advancement of public administration reforms.

Srinivas described the meeting as a historic milestone and highlighted the constitution of 16 Permanent Study Groups, four Ad Hoc Groups and nine Special Panels covering contemporary areas such as AI in public administration, public policy, strategic management, local governance and social innovation.

He underlined India’s growing contribution to public administration, noting the work being undertaken by Indian universities and the Government of India in governance best practices, digitisation and frontier technologies. He also highlighted the National Centre of Good Governance’s capacity-building programmes for officials from 34 countries.

Srinivas emphasised the role of AI, digital platforms, deregulation and modernisation in improving governance efficiency. He said that next-generation reforms must remain citizen-centric and use technology to bring governments and citizens closer.
