whispers in the corridors
THDC India Limited, a leading Power Sector PSU, remains steadfast in its commitment to transparency, integrity, and ethical governance. As part of its continued vigilance efforts, the company successfully organized the Annual Vigilance Meet 2025 from March 25 to 27, 2025, in Alleppey, Kerala. R K Vishnoi, Chairman & Managing Director, THDCIL, reaffirmed the company’s unwavering commitment to corporate governance and ethical business practices, emphasizing that vigilance is not just a regulatory necessity but a fundamental pillar of organizational excellence and nation-building. Vishnoi stated that in THDCIL an active and forward-thinking Vigilance Department significantly enhances organizational efficiency and governance. At THDCIL we believe that vigilance is not just about compliance; it is about fostering a culture of accountability and trust. Our initiatives in ethical governance not only strengthen our operations but also contribute to the larger vision of a corruption-free, transparent corporate ecosystem. Ethical governance is the bedrock of a sustainable organization. It ensures fairness, builds trust, and safeguards the long-term interests of stakeholders. Training programs like the Annual Vigilance Meet provide a crucial platform for employees to engage in knowledge sharing, develop a deeper understanding of ethical governance, and enhance their vigilance skills. This meet provides an invaluable opportunity for us to step away from routine office work and engage in meaningful learning without distractions. Training programs like these are not just about refining our professional competencies with openness away from office environment, but also about shaping our ethical perspectives. They help us evolve as individuals, instilling in us a deeper sense of integrity, morality, and responsibility. Vishnoi further emphasized that vigilance must be embedded into every layer of the organization. "Vigilance is not merely the responsibility of a few; it is a collective duty. Every employee, irrespective of role or designation, must be a torchbearer of integrity. Proactive vigilance measures and a strong ethical framework will help us maintain an environment where transparency, efficiency, and fairness are ingrained in our daily operations. Our commitment to these values will not only drive THDCIL towards excellence but also inspire the entire sector to operate with the highest ethical standards." The program was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Shallinder Singh, Director (Personnel), in the esteemed presence of THDCIL’s Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO), Ms Rashmita Jha (IRS). Shallinder Singh, Director (Personnel), highlighted the importance of capacity-building and employee sensitization in reinforcing vigilance across all levels. He remarked, "Strong ethical foundations lead to long-term organizational success. Through training programs like these, we ensure that our employees are well-equipped to uphold the values of integrity and fairness in every aspect of their professional conduct." Singh added that "Integrity and fair practices are not just corporate values but essential pillars for a progressive society. When organizations operate with transparency and accountability, they contribute to a more just and equitable economic system, benefiting all stakeholders, including employees, businesses, and the general public. These interactive sessions help employees develop a deeper understanding of vigilance practices, ethical governance, and compliance frameworks. With the Annual Vigilance Meet 2025, THDCIL has once again reinforced its dedication to ethical leadership and proactive vigilance measures, ensuring sustainable growth for the organization and the nation. Vigilance is not just to be seen as a compliance mechanism in our Office functioning, but we should also inculcate it as a habit in our day to day activities and make it as a way of life, thereby ensuring that our Nation, our Organization, our Society and we ourselves move forward on the path laid on solid foundations of ethical and sustainable growth. Addressing the gathering, Singh concluded with the profound Sanskrit shloka, "धर्मो रक्षति रक्षितः" (When we uphold righteousness, righteousness protects us in return), emphasizing that integrity and ethical governance are the foundations of a strong and sustainable organization. During the meet, Ms. Rashmita Jha, CVO, (IRS) THDCIL, emphasized the critical role of vigilance in fostering organizational integrity and highlighted the successful observance of Vigilance Awareness Week (VAW) 2024. The campaign, conducted between August and November 2024, focused on the theme "Culture of Integrity for Nation’s Prosperity," promoting active participation from employees, stakeholders, and the public. The event also shed light on THDCIL’s progressive initiatives in strengthening vigilance mechanisms, including the implementation of the Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS) (ISO 37001:2016) to align with global anti-corruption standards and the enhancement of Complaint Handling Modules for greater transparency and accountability.
