South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) observed World TB Day at its headquarters and various operational areas by organizing special awareness programs. On this occasion, activities such as Nikshay Pledge, awareness rallies, awareness camps in schools, free screening camps, and various competitions in schools and colleges were conducted. SECL’s Director (Personnel), Biranchi Das, emphasized the company’s commitment to India’s TB eradication mission, stating, "SECL is fully dedicated to making India TB-free. We are continuously working towards eliminating this disease among our employees and the surrounding communities." SECL’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr Pratibha Pathak, highlighted the role of the company’s medical team in spreading awareness about tuberculosis. She said, "The entire medical team of SECL’s headquarters and operational areas is playing a crucial role in ensuring that the message of TB awareness reaches every individual." Recently, SECL actively participated in the 100-day National TB Eradication Program launched by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, which concluded on March 17, 2025. As part of this campaign, SECL organized multiple awareness programs and conducted free TB screening for people living near mining areas. National TB Elimination Program (NTEP): A Vision for TB-Free India. The 100-day campaign was a key initiative under the National TB Elimination Program (NTEP), implemented under the National Health Mission (NHM). It aligns with the National Strategic Plan (NSP) 2017-2025, aimed at eradicating TB from India.
